Christian Distinctiveness
St Mary’s Church of England School is a voluntary controlled school within the Diocese of Lichfield. We work hard to develop and sustain our school’s Christian Distinctiveness.
Our theologically rooted Christian vision: ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart.’ (Colossians 3:23) is lived out daily by pupils and staff alike. The Bible teaches us that whatever we do, we must do our very best, approaching every task with diligence, enthusiasm and excellence. We want our children to have the belief that whatever is asked of them, they should work at it with all their heart.
We work in close partnership with Reverend Mary Thomas (Chair of Governors for St Mary’s CE Primary School) and St Mary Magdalene Church, Albrighton.
As a school community, we have decided our core Christian values are Love, Courage and Forgiveness. We believe our three core values will have the greatest impact upon our children’s moral and spiritual journey as they move through school and beyond.

Love – it is more important than anything else; love binds all things together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:14)

Courage – a willingness to overcome self-doubt and bravery to face challenges without fear

Forgiveness – our school Saint (Mary Magdalene) experienced forgiveness and compassion from the Lord; we want our children to be willing to forgive and experience forgiveness from others
